As Chief Medical Officer of Laekna, Inc. (“Laekna”), Dr. Yong Yue is responsible for overseeing group’s medical strategy and clinical development.
Dr. Yue has more than 20 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry. Before joining Laekna, Dr. Yue worked at three global healthcare companies including Johnson & Johnson, GlaxoSmithKline plc., and Sanofi, with some drug candidates approved. He had abundant experience working with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and European Medicines Agency (EMA).
Prior to joining the pharmaceutical industry, Dr. Yue was a surgical oncologist with ample clinical experience. He received the U.S. Medical License in the state of Massachusetts in the United States and also owns the Medical License in China. From 2006 to 2008, He was a surgical resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital of Harvard Medical School in the United States. Dr. Yue was a doctoral student of University of Geneva Medical School and a physician at University Hospitals of Geneva in Switzerland and Tianjin Medical University General Hospital in China.
Dr. Yue was admitted in an eight-year medical education program consisting of three years of pre-medicine study at Nankai University and five years of medicine study at Tianjin Medical University. He obtained a Master of Medicine degree from Tianjin Medical University in China (which was certified in 2005 by the U.S. Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates as an equivalent to the MD degree after US Medical School graduation) and the Doctor of Medical Science degree from the University of Geneva in Switzerland. He was a postdoctoral research fellow at Lab for Cancer Research, Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy, Rutgers University in the United States with multiple publications.
